THE PHOTO SHOOT

The clothing your children wear will have an impact on the photos, for outdoors, anything natural to the look and feel of the location would be good. For fun family photos, wear whatever is comfortable. Formal/semi-formal shoot in a garden, then dress accordingly .Bring a change of outfit if unsure.All white outfits are super for babies and children,the clean, crisp and natural look is perfect for photography. No large logos, dominant patterns or pictures

I would advise warm bold colours on the autumnal hue with neutral tones, layering is also good in winter. Bright and bold colours can be a great way to capture the energy and excitement of young children. Classic is the best option: plain or pastel or floral sundresses for the girls, khaki trousers and pale coloured shirts for the boys. If in doubt pick something that they normally wear then your child be more relaxed for the photo shoot, let them choose a toy from a selection you are happy for them to be photographed with.

If you have more than one child and one is wearing an outfit full of colour and patterns whilst one is in a crisp white t-shirt the benefits of both will be diluted. Your children don’t have to wear identical outfits or colours. Planning and preparation determine how successful the shoot will be.

Mums really enjoy seeing their children running free to do as they pleased with some small guidance and pointing in the right direction. When I used to take my son for his photo shoots, I felt defeated, deflated, stressed, made to feel like I had the naughtiest child on the planet. You will have a lovely relaxed shoot full of fun and giggles
