When I first saw Hannah and Sam I was struck by how amazing they were together, they seemed to finish each others sentence then giggle
They both were supper chilled out, with a fabulous wedding venue, Holme Mill in the heart of Clitheroe This unique venue was once a textile mill but now it is a celebration of Lancashire food and drink. The guest would be provided with the best the county could offer and even the selection of on site brewed beers from the Bowland Brewery.
Hannah’s bridal party and preparations, were next door at the Spinning Block, a boutique Hotel bathed in sumptuous luxury, I could hear the excited voices chattering away totally girly, so I wasn’t surprised to meet them all in their pink pyjamas with a glass of bucks fizz all giddy getting primped and preened to an inch of their lives.
I love shooting bridal prep as it is so electric and the air is buzzing with laughter and fun, and there is so much to shoot, all the little bits and bobs, from the dress to the wedding cards I love it all.
It was soon time for Hannah to put on her dress, secure her veil, her mum fasten her dress and them put a stunning bracelet on her wrist as a keepsake, whilst dad struggled with his button hole and had to have help eventually as he was so nervous.
The ceremony Hall was delightfully enchanting and gloriously chic ideal for a wedding, with an air of industrial vintage, all Hannah’s bridesmaids drifted in, then came Hannah and everyone drew breath and Sam beamed from ear to ear. The ceremony itself was beautiful and I really loved the glass and silver table to sign the register along with the clear chairs a super touch, then it was off to the engine room for the reception.
The engine room is exactly as is imagined, an engine room for the mill, it smelt gloriously of engine oil and had a massive wheel in the middle surrounded by many plants or varying proportions. The food was little canapes of all delectable with a champagne tower and a beer barrow. Hannah and Sam went round and greeted all the guests and offered them the best food and drink Lancashire had to offer. This is really a gem of a place.
The Ceremony Hall then became the evening function suite and everyone soon went up for their wedding breakfast, to hear the speeches and toast the newly weds, there was much laughter as it seems Hannah had had the wedding all planned a year or two before Sam proposed, well that is his story.
The cake was a delicious sponge decorated with seasonal fruits, and it oozed cream making it look so temping alongside some brightly decorated cup cakes that were on offer also.
This wedding was a delight, relaxed, fun and quirky and all the guests were so relaxed and welcoming.
After the cutting of the cake the live band began and so did the first dance, Hannah was twirled round the dance floor and the pair of them were still giggling away to each other, exactly the same as I first met them.
Amazing wedding, fabulously original venue, relaxed chilled out bride and groom…oh and not forgetting totally stunning both of you, thank you so much for choosing me to shoot your day and mix with Lancashire’s finest.
